Oregon Berry Picking!

Today we picked Strawberries for the first time this season! It was a cool overcast day, a perfect day for berry picking! The raspberries are coming on as are the marionberries. After picking strawberries we visited a patient of Jesse's at his home near the farm and picked a ton of cherries in 30 minutes!
Come and visit us in Oregon this summer! :) Please!

We're going to miss the view....

Where else in the world do you get a basement view like this??
Suncrest is beautiful all year long! A big thank you to Mom and Dad for having us stay with them. We love it here! You are the best!

Okay.....

Since nobody is posting anything on this WONDERFUL family blog that I spent hours creating, oh just kidding, well I will post a few pictures.

PLEASE ADD TO OUR FAMILY BLOG!!!!

Above you will notice two very sleepy girls. Abby fell asleep after eating dinner, which was a first! I've always heard stories of other kids doing that, and she finally did! It was cute and funny.

And then there is Bailey who fell asleep holding a Nutri-grain wrapper close to her face. I don't know why that was comforting to her, but it worked! They make me laugh!

Jane Emery Gillett is finally here!!!

You finally made it Jane! Congrats Josh and Mary (and Henry :) Poor Mary had a hard delivery and only half her epidural worked. You are a trooper Mary! Jane is so sweet and look at all that thick dark hair! Mary will love styling that :) Henry wasn't too sure about sharing Mommy at the hospital, but I think he will love his sweet little sister! She is beautiful!

Trip to Italy

We found this story and thought it was fabulous. We can definitely see how it applies to our little family, but I believe it has meaning to all of our families. Life is not what you plan, but it's about enjoying the trip!

Life is like planning a fabulous vacation trip--to Italy. You buy a bunch of guidebooks and make your wonderful plans. The Coliseum, Michelangelo's "David." The gondolas in Venice. You may learn some handy phrases in Italian. It's all very exciting.

After months of eager anticipation, the day finally arrives. You pack your bags and off you go. Several hours later, the plane lands. The flight attendant comes and says, "Welcome to Holland."

"Holland?!" you say. "What do you mean, Holland? I signed up for Italy! I'm supposed to be in Italy. All my life I've dreamed of going to Italy."

But there's been a change in the flight plan. They've landed in Holland and there you must stay.

The important thing is that they haven't taken you to a horrible, disgusting, filthy place full of pestilence, famine and disease. It's just a different place. So you must go out and buy new guidebooks. You must learn a whole new language. And you will meet a whole new group of people you would never have met. It's just a different place. It's slower-paced than Italy, less flashy than Italy. But after you've been there awhile and you catch your breath, you look around and you begin to notice that Holland has windmills; Holland has tulips; Holland even has Rembrandts.

But everyone you know is busy coming and going from Italy, and they're all bragging about what a wonderful time they had there. And for the rest of your life, you will say, "Yes, that's where I was supposed to go. That's what I had planned."

But if you spend your life mourning the fact that you didn't get to Italy, you may never be free to enjoy the very special, the very lovely things about Holland.
